cancer

People in everyday life have the same curiosity as researchers about cancer. How does cancer develop? Can injuries cause cancer? Can stress cause cancer? What are the risk factors for cancer? Is cancer contagious? Can cancer be prevented? Everyone wants to know the answer but study has shown that there are many factors that develop cancer. I believe that there are three major factors that cause cancer:genetics, environment, and behavioral.

Image result for texting and drivingImage result for tattoos and piercingsOverall I think everyone did a pretty good job on their presentations we could have had eye contact a little better while presenting them and not have our back turned against the audience. The presentation that interest me the most is texting and driving and tattoos and piercing. I can relate to the tattoos and piercings presentation because i have tattoos and piercings myself. I also can relate to the texting and driving presentation because I 100 percent agree that it is really dangerous and can put a lot of people lives in danger. I feel that presentation was good  just had a lot of miscommunication with the definition of some of the words I had chosen. Other then these little situations i enjoyed everyone presentation.

For my final paper I decided on the topic Breast Cancer. By the end of this semester I would like to research the main factors that causes breast cancer. most people think that breast cancer is genetic I think that there are causes and things you do to your body that makes you get breast cancer. The reason why I chose this topic is because when I was younger my grandmother died from inflammatory breast cancer which left my mother to raise my grandmother youngest child as her own. Ever since my grandmother passed from inflammatory breast with her being the first person ever in our family to die from cancer we have been really big on anything dealing with breast cancer such as fundraisers, walks, etc. While working on this project I have learned that there are number of factors that have been proven to increase a woman's risk of breast cancer. factors associated with breast cancer risk are linked to estrogen. Women who begin their period at a younger age and enter menopause at an older age have a greater lifetime exposure to estrogen, which increases their breast cancer risk. Women who don't have kids or have kids after the age of thirty are also at higher risk to get breast cancer. Obesity is another estrogen related risk factor for breast cancer. Approximately 5 to 10 percent of all breast cancers are genetic. A personal history or family history of breast cancer also increases the likelihood of developing the disease. Having a mother, sister, or daughter with breast cancer approximately doubles a woman's risk for the disease.

Jones critical response

In "Violent media is good for kids " Gerard Jones takes the position that violent media is good for kids (paragraph 3). Jones suggests the cause and effect connection between the two girls and how they used their violence.

Although Jones acknowledge in paragraph 3 that comics contain "lofty messages of pacifism and tolerance" he reveals that it was the violence that attracted him.The characters in these comics were strong and in control with superpowers. For example, the incredible hulk had qualities that allowed Jones to overcome his own fears.

Jones cites an opposing argument in paragraph 16 stating that violent media is harmless, He also do believe that it has help inspire some people to real life violence. He refutes this argument by saying he don't fully agree with violent media but he don't fully disagree either.

A piece of supporting evidence for Jones claim that violent media is good for kids comes in paragraph 9 when a psychologist with a PHD name Melanie Moore who also works with urban teens states that children need violent entertainment. Although this may be true she only states evidence from urban teens and all teens as a whole.

Jones concluding statement - "When we try to protect our children from their own feelings and fantasies, we shelter them not against violence but against power and self-hood" shows the audience that we shelter our kids from their feelings being against violent media. Unfortunately he doesn't show us enough evidence that guarantees violent media is good for kids.

russia probe videos

In my opinion all the videos use logos and pathos because each video is using logical facts on how trump is dealing with things in the white house and how he is making things worse than the Clintons and not taking the blame for it. They are using facts and information that they found about the whitehouse. They are using pathos because they are trying to persuade the people what trump is doing and trying to get people turned again

st him and to dislike him.
thesis statement : 1st paragraph
evidence: 3rd paragraph
evidence:4th paragraph
evidence:6th paragraph
refutation of opposing arguments :6th and 7th paragraph
conclusion:8th paragraph

thesis statement : I believe higher education is broken.

1st evidence: college fails to empower us with the skills necessary to become productive members of todays global entrepreneurial economy.

2nd evidence: In the book academically adrift, sociology professors Richard arum and Josipa Roksa say that 36 percent of college graduates showed no improvement in critical thinking complex reasoning, or writing after four years of college. student loan debt in the united states, unforgiveable in the case of bankruptcy, outpaced credit and debit in 2010 and will top 1 trillion in 2011

3rd evidence : the success of people who never completed or attended college makes us question whether what we need to learn is taught in school..

refutation of opposing arguments: a major function of college is to signal to potential that one is qualified to work. the internet is replacing this signaling function.

conclusion: we who take our education outside and beyond the classroom understand how actions build a better world. we will change the world regardless of the letters after our names

He appeals to his audience as persuasive because he is trying to persuade people that college is a waste of time. He uses a lot of evidence and statistics to back up his opinion to make his argument.

I am a 19 year old full student at college and part time manager at dollar general. My favorite color is pink and pink is also my favorite clothing. the most important thin to me in life is to finish college to accomplish my lifelong dream of becoming a neonatal nurse and to be able to make enough money for my mom to retire from her job and me be able to take care of her and myself as well. My second lifelong dream is me marrying my high school sweetheart and starting a family of my own.
